My artwork depicts the beauty of the female figure. It is a theme throughout my artwork celebrating its elegance through line, shape, and movement. I paint female icons throughout history focusing on their spirituality and their power. I am drawn to the stories of goddesses, muses and saints by recreating their tales in my artwork.
My current work is of Catholic saints painted with acrylic and decorated with gold leaf. My paintings are a 21st century portrayal of the saints and their stories inspired by alter paintings of the 13th-15th century. I am attracted to the decorative beauty of the gold leaf paintings and the elegant grace of the late Gothic art.
